Windows Update - the apt-get update way

The Windows Update UI panel is flashy and functional, but it’s not the fastest way to start the update process. Microsoft Powershell offers a basic way, that’s easier to handle in some situations.

Looks old-skool, works reliably?

Here we go:

C:\Users\marius
λ Get-WindowsUpdate

ComputerName Status KB Size Title
------------ ------ -- ---- -----
PLUG ------- KB4503864 60MB 2019-06 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.7.2 and 4.8 for Windows 10 Version 1809 for x64...

And after Install-WindowsUpdate all that superfluous stuff will be downloaded in order to overwrite the existing system with new buggy crap.

wup

Good luck! You are going to need it.
